Emerging pet insurance market faces new state regulations

They are seeking to set a new standard for what policies should cover and how they are marketed.

More than 4 million dogs and cats are covered by pet insurance policies in the U.S., a market that has grown exponentially over the past several years. 

But until this year, only California had a law that even mentioned pet insurance policies.
