Iowa GOP targets Dem Auditor’s authority

Auditor Rob Sand is Iowa’s only statewide elected Democrat.

Iowa House Republicans approved legislation Thursday that would keep certain information from the state auditor over privacy concerns, a move Democrats said is politically motivated, would invite fraud, and jeopardize federal funding.

Auditor Rob Sand is Iowa’s only statewide elected Democrat.
