Medical aid-in-dying bills move forward in states

Several states are considering allowing people with terminal illnesses to end their lives through legally administered medication, after previous efforts have fallen short.

The Nevada Senate passed a bill, while supporters expect legislation in New York and Massachusetts to gain traction later this year. This week, Vermont became the first state to change its law by removing a residency requirement, allowing terminally ill people from out of state to use medical assistance to end their lives.
