‘Capital of Red State America’: Florida lawmakers wrap up session

DeSantis touted it as a victory over ‘the woke agenda.’

Four years ago, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) took office pledging to unify a divided state after he narrowly defeated his Democratic rival in the consummate swing state.

Now, as Florida lawmakers capped one of the most historic legislative sessions in recent memory with a traditional handkerchief drop in the Capitol Rotunda in Tallahassee, DeSantis leads a state that has forced itself to the vanguard of Red America.
