Connecticut lawmakers celebrated an unusually bipartisan legislative session, which was capped off last week with an invitation for Republican leaders to attend Gov. Ned Lamont’s (D) signing of a $51.1 billion two-year budget that included the biggest tax cut in the state’s history.
“You did this together,” Lamont said, addressing the assembled lawmakers. In case anyone missed the significance, he said: “To see what this says about this state, just look around the rest of the country. I like the way Connecticut led today.”
