Abortion rights backers submitted enough signatures to qualify a proposed constitutional amendment for Ohio’s November ballot, setting up the biggest electoral showdown since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last year to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s (R) office said Tuesday supporters had submitted an estimated 495,938 valid signatures to place the measure on the ballot, well over the 413,487 valid signatures required to secure a spot.
