Miss. Gov. Reeves holds financial advantage ahead of general election sprint

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) holds a significant fundraising advantage over the Democrat he is likely to face in November, according to pre-primary figures announced by the campaigns.

Reeves, who is running for a second term, had $9.3 million in cash on hand as of Tuesday, one week before he faces two Republican opponents for the party nomination. Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley (D), who has no primary opposition, announced having $1.5 million on hand.
