Attorneys general from 20 states that allow abortions have urged a federal judge to block a new Idaho law making it a crime for adults to help minors travel out of the state for abortion care.
The Idaho law, enacted in May, endangers minors who live in the state — one of 13 that have passed near or total abortion bans in the past year — and punishes medical providers and residents in other states for helping young people access legal abortion care elsewhere, the attorneys general argued in an amicus brief filed in U.S. District Court in Idaho on Tuesday.
