Whitmer outlines fall legislative agenda after stacked start to year

It includes removing remaining barriers to abortion, codifying parts of the Affordable Care Act, and moving the state toward 100% clean energy.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Wednesday outlined a raft of legislative priorities for the remainder of the year, in a speech that also touted what Democrats already accomplished this year and that was accompanied by a significant social media push.

In a speech titled “What’s Next” and delivered at an entertainment complex along the Grand River in Lansing, Whitmer listed as some of her top goals a measure that would remove the remaining barriers to abortion, codifying parts of the Affordable Care Act, and moving the state toward 100% clean energy.
