As the most competitive statewide election in November, the Kentucky governor’s race is drawing large sums of outside money and national media attention that has thrust the state into the off-year political spotlight.
It pits Gov. Andy Beshear (D), a former attorney general and the son of a former two-term governor, against current Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R) who, if elected, would become Kentucky’s first Black governor.
