The authors of Arkansas and Utah’s first-in-the-nation laws requiring parental permission for teens to have social media accounts say they are undeterred despite a recent court ruling that blocked the Arkansas law from taking effect.
Speaking at a Pluribus News event Thursday, Arkansas Sen. Tyler Dees (R) and Utah Sen. Mike McKell (R) reinforced their argument that state lawmakers should step in to regulate social media companies in the absence of federal legislation.
