MANASSAS, Va. — Democratic legislators and candidates marked Friday’s start of early voting by drawing a contrast with Republicans on abortion, gun violence and other issues central to November’s fight for control of the Virginia legislature.
Outside of the Prince William County Office of Elections, Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw (D), House Minority Leader Don Scott (D) and seven other lawmakers were quick to raise the issue of abortion, which they argued is under attack by Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and Republicans in the legislature.
