California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Tuesday called for federal action on gun violence as he signed three bills that limit where concealed guns may be carried, impose an 11% excise tax on gun dealers and require all semi-automatic pistols to use microstamping technology to help solve gun crimes.
“It’s great what we’re doing, but it may not be enough,” Newsom said at the bill signing ceremony.
