Poll: Ohio voters back abortion, marijuana measures

Both received well more than a majority of support among respondents.

Ohio voters are set to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution and legalize recreational marijuana in November’s elections, according to a new poll that shows both measures leading by wide margins.

The Ohio Pulse Poll, conducted by SurveyUSA for Baldwin Wallace University, found Issue 1, the proposed constitutional amendment that would protect the right to reproductive freedom, leading by a 58% to 34% margin. Majorities of men, women, younger and older voters and independents back the amendment — and so do 40% of Republican voters.
