Hochul proposes eliminating insulin copay

It’s one of the policies she plans to highlight during her state-of-the-state address next week.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Tuesday called for state lawmakers to eliminate copays for insulin in what her office called “the most expansive prohibition against insulin cost-sharing in the nation.”

The proposal, part of a package of policies Hochul plans to highlight during her Jan. 9 state-of-the-state address, would put New York at the forefront of a national effort to limit the price of insulin, as state and federal lawmakers seek to address the high costs of prescription drugs.
