Less than three months after the deadliest mass shooting in state history, legislators in Maine will consider strengthening Maine’s “yellow flag” law, which allows a judge to remove guns from someone who is suffering a mental health crisis. New Mexico will consider an assault-weapons ban and, along with Michigan and Maryland, is expected to explore repealing gun-industry immunity protections.
