Land use changes on the table to boost housing supply

Lawmakers across the country are once again backing bills that would force towns and cities to allow denser development in a bid to lower housing costs.

Bills in some states, such as in Arizona and Colorado, would dismantle single-family zoning for the first time, while bills in Oregon, Vermont, Washington and others would build on past reforms.
