The Taylor Swift era — and efforts by state legislators to crack down on the scourge of scalped tickets that make access to the pop icon so expensive on the secondary market — has entered 2024.
Legislation introduced this month in at least three states — Arizona, Maryland and Washington — takes aim at ticket purchasing bots, unscrupulous resellers and excessive fees. They join lawmakers in several other states who sought similar protections last year for those trying to attend concerts, games and other live events.
