Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, a Democrat, and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, said Tuesday they were open to pausing gas taxes to mitigate spiking prices due to the war in Iran.
Lamont suggested tapping a state savings account to fund a gas and diesel tax holiday, CT Insider reported. Connecticut levies a 25-cent tax on every gallon of gasoline and a 49 cent-a-gallon tax on diesel fuel.
