N.Y. lawmakers pass chatbot disclosure requirement

The platforms must ‘clearly and conspicuously’ display a notice that outputs may be inaccurate.

New York lawmakers gave final approval to legislation that would require generative artificial intelligence systems to come with a warning label. 

Attorney David Stauss with the firm Troutman Pepper Locke, who highlighted the bill’s passage in a legislative alert Thursday, told Pluribus News it would likely be a first-in-the-nation law if Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul signs it.
