Virginia is latest state to pass paid leave

Thirteen states and D.C. have created paid family and medical leave programs

Virginia is set to become the 14th state to create a paid family and medical leave program, a victory for Democratic lawmakers whose efforts the past two years were stifled by former Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger, who was elected in November, has indicated she will sign the legislation.
