California bill aims to end ‘anticompetitive’ practices in big tech

Bill targets practices by Apple, Google, Meta and Amazon.

California Sen. Scott Wiener, a Democrat who is running for Congress, is picking a fight with some of the most powerful companies in the world.

Wiener announced legislation Wednesday to crack down on what he said are anticompetitive practices by trillion-dollar tech companies that hurt startups and mid-size companies – and ultimately consumers.
