Green bills await Spanberger’s signature

The Virginia governor has until Monday to sign several pieces of legislation backed by environmental groups.

Rejoining the regional carbon-reduction program, studying how to use waste heat from data centers, and tracking PFAS in biosolids and industrial sources are among the most notable environmental bills the Virginia Legislature passed before adjourning last month.

Others include legislation requiring data center water usage reporting and a measure that would require replacing trees as they are removed during development projects.
