Idaho tackles addictive social media feeds with new law

The red state’s effort follows the lead of California and New York.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed a bill into law this month that targets addictive social media feeds with the goal of protecting kids, following the lead of California and New York but taking it a step further.

The blue state laws default to a chronological feed for youth but allow algorithmic feeds for those who receive parental permission.
