Data centers emerge as issue in state elections

Data centers are emerging as a significant issue for state-level incumbents and would-be lawmakers running in the midterm elections, as voters raise concerns over their effects on surrounding communities and increasing energy costs. 

State leaders are weighing those concerns against the potential economic impacts of the massive facilities that are used to house, power and cool large amounts of networking equipment.
