Illinois Dems race to set AI guardrails before clock runs out

Illinois Senate Democrats launched an 11th-hour push to pass a bundle of artificial intelligence regulations before the legislative session is scheduled to adjourn at the end of the month.

The eight-bill package, which moved out of committee on a fast-track last week, represents a more targeted approach to AI regulation after back-to-back marathon hearings last month featured nearly 50 bills
