ACA enrollment drops by millions

This is the first nationwide tally to include effectuated enrollment for the first months of the year.

Nearly 3 million people have dropped health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act marketplace this year, a decline likely to scramble the insurance market in the states. 

The Trump administration attributed the enrollment drop to federal efforts to crack down on “improper or fraudulent enrollment,” according to the issue brief the Department of Health and Human Services released late Friday.
