N.J. passes one of the strongest Kids Code laws to protect minors online

It was part of a three-bill package lawmakers approved Tuesday.

New Jersey lawmakers gave final approval Tuesday to a package of online protections for minors that were priorities for first-year Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill. 

The bills included the adoption of an Age-Appropriate Design Code, the creation of a university-based Social Media Research Center, and a study of the impact “addictive” social media has on youth and recommendations for requiring online warning labels.
