CHICAGO — Top state privacy and security officials are warning lawmakers to establish digital identity standards in response to concerns that the monetization of data and the rise of artificial intelligence threatens to violate Americans’ constitutional rights.
Speaking Monday at the National Conference of State Legislatures’s annual policy conference, those officials said states should adopt a set of best practices aimed at ensuring digital identities remain secure.
