CHICAGO — A bipartisan group of state lawmakers on Monday released a lengthy list of ideas for making childcare more affordable and accessible, in the hopes of inspiring their colleagues in other states.
The report released here at the National Conference of State Legislatures’s annual summit provided seven broad recommendations, such as boosting subsidies for families, scrapping unnecessary regulations and improving training for childcare workers. It highlighted examples of policies in all 50 states.
