Vermont lawmakers overrode Gov. Phil Scott’s (R) veto Monday to enact legislation that will require all utilities to provide 100% renewable energy by 2035, becoming the 15th state to enact a 100% clean energy law.
The veto was overridden in the Democrat-controlled legislature 102-43 in the House and 21-8 in the Senate, mostly along party lines and just above the two-thirds vote necessary in each chamber.
