Attorneys general from across the country are calling on Congress to require that social media sites come with a U.S. surgeon general warning.
The bipartisan group of attorneys general from 39 states, Washington, D.C., and two territories made their request to leadership on Capitol Hill in a letter sent Monday that highlighted “a mental health crisis, which is fueled in large part by social media” use by American youth. It came after the National Association of Attorneys General’s youth-focused Presidential Initiative Summit last week in Portland, Ore.
