States boost security after Minnesota attacks

The efforts in many states include removing physical addresses of lawmakers.

State law enforcement and legislative officials moved to bolster security and scrub personal information from government websites after the shocking attacks on two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses over the weekend.

In many of those states, legislatures removed information about physical addresses of lawmakers. The alleged assailant, Vance Boelter, shot and killed former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman (D) and her husband Mark and shot and wounded state Sen. John Hoffman (D) and his wife Yvette at their homes.
