Dems seek to ban face masks during immigration raids

Lawmakers have introduced bills in California, New York, Massachusetts and Michigan.

Democratic lawmakers upset by the Trump administration’s increasing use of masked immigration agents arresting undocumented immigrants are introducing measures barring law enforcement officers from covering their faces.

Legislators in California, Massachusetts, New York and Michigan have introduced bills that would make it a crime for law enforcement officers to wear a facial covering as they perform their duties. A Pennsylvania lawmaker plans to introduce similar legislation in the coming days.
