N.J. law increases transparency at PJM

Lawmakers in Maryland and Delaware passed similar legislation.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) signed legislation requiring state electric utilities served by East Coast grid operator PJM Interconnection to file a report indicating how they voted during PJM business meetings.

Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak (D), the bill’s sponsor, said he hopes the measure will help lower utility bills by exposing how utilities vote, especially in lower-level meetings.
