Texas lawmakers pass bill enabling lawsuits against abortion medication providers

It targets mifepristone and misoprostol, two drugs commonly used in abortions.

The Texas Senate on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that would allow private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures or distributes abortion medication in the state.

The House passed the bill last week. It now heads to Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who is likely to sign it.
