Newsom signs social media warning labels bill

California will require surgeon general-style warning labels on “addictive” social media under legislation Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed Monday. 

It is the nation’s second such law after Minnesota enacted a similar mandate earlier this year. A third bill in New York is awaiting Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) signature.
