Model bill offers blueprint for states to regulate algorithmic design

The Knight-Georgetown Institute unveiled model legislation for state lawmakers seeking to regulate social media algorithms without requiring a default to old-school chronological feeds.

The 10-page bill follows the August release of a related legislative toolkit and a March report titled, “Better Feeds: Algorithms that Put People First.
