States sue TikTok over alleged privacy incursions

Thirteen states plus Washington, D.C., are suing TikTok over alleged harms to children and data privacy incursions, the latest in a series of legal volleys between states and the tech industry.

The consumer protection lawsuits announced Tuesday come more than two years after multiple states launched an investigation of TikTok and nearly a year after 33 states sued Meta alleging similar harms.
