Abortion legislation action ramps up across the country

Last week was yet another spurt of activity on the issue in legislatures and courts.

As North Carolina Republicans rushed to pass a 12-week abortion ban last week, a Wisconsin judge heard the first arguments on the state’s 174-year-old abortion ban, and courts in Montana and Utah blocked new restrictions from taking effect.

It was another frenzied week of activity affecting the future of abortion rights, a new normal as state legislatures slap together laws that in many cases face court challenges.
