Virginia’s November elections are shaping up as a test of swing state voters’ appetite for abortion restrictions of any kind after more than a year in post-Roe America.
Republicans vying for legislative seats have largely coalesced behind Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) call for a 15-week limit, according to anti-abortion activists and GOP consultants who described the proposal as an acknowledgement that voters would not tolerate a stricter ban in the politically divided state.
