ACA insurers propose second year of double-digit premium hikes for ’27

It would mean typical premiums jump by more than a third since 2025.

Health insurers participating in the Affordable Care Act exchanges are proposing a second straight year of double-digit rate hikes in 2027, according to a report released Wednesday. 

The KFF analysis of preliminary rate filings in 16 states found that insurers are proposing a median premium increase of 14% as they seek to offset the rising costs of healthcare, inflationary pressures and labor shortages.
