AI-driven road safety, traffic management efforts zoom ahead

California, Florida and Texas are among the latest to embrace the technology in the transportation sector.

Road safety and traffic management have emerged as early test drives in how states can take advantage of the potential life-improving benefits that artificial intelligence provides.

While states are just starting to work through how to deploy the technology ethically and to ensure bias is absent from any AI-led decision making, transportation appears to be a safer application of it that states can jump on now.
