Arkansas legislators pass crypto mining reforms

The legislation was fast-tracked in response to an outcry over crypto mines’ effects on nearby communities.

The Arkansas House has given final passage to a pair of bills aimed at giving the state and local governments more control over crypto mining operations, a burgeoning and energy-intensive industry.

The bills, which received near unanimous votes, now go to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R).
