Artificial Intelligence regulation takes off in states

The fast-moving expansion of artificial intelligence in people’s daily lives has spurred state lawmakers to accelerate their efforts to grasp the implications of the technology and establish some guardrails.

This year, lawmakers in Connecticut passed legislation to address state agency use of AI, while legislators in LouisianaNorth DakotaTexas and Washington authorized AI studies or advisory councils, according to tracking by the National Conference of State Legislatures.
