Blue states brace for child care funding freeze

So far funding appears to have only halted funds to Minnesota.

The Democratic leaders of five states are bracing for the Trump administration to freeze federal funding for child care assistance, cash welfare and other services that hundreds of thousands of low-income people depend on.

Axios, the New York Times and other news outlets reported Tuesday that federal officials are planning to freeze $10 billion in social services grants to California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and New York.
