Calif. report details risks, benefits of AI in government

Generative artificial intelligence could help California improve delivery of services to its residents, but the cutting-edge technology also carries potential serious risks, a new state-issued report found.

The 34-page report released Tuesday examines the potential for state agencies to use GenAI — defined as AI that learns as it goes — to increase access to public programs.
