Climate-related financial risk bill advances in California

For the second time in as many days, California advanced far-reaching climate legislation imposes new reporting requirements on companies.

The latest bill would force about 10,000 companies with more than $500 million in annual revenue to report their climate-related financial risk on a biennial basis starting in 2026. Insurance companies are exempt.
