Colorado legislators passed a bill that would give patients more time to sue “conversion therapy” providers for malpractice, attempting to protect LGBTQ+ youth from what they say is a harmful treatment with no scientific basis.
The bill, which Democrats passed on a party-line vote, responds to a U.S. Supreme Court decision in March that struck down Colorado’s ban on therapies that pressure minors to reject feelings of same-sex attraction or non-cisgender identity.
