Consumer advocate urges states to ban NDAs in data center deals

State and local governments should prohibit the use of nondisclosure agreements when negotiating deals to host data centers so citizens can make informed decisions on the merits and demerits of projects, according to the American Economic Liberties Project.

“These are agreements that bind public officials, elected and otherwise, to not tell their constituents really important details about what’s going to be happening in their community,” Pat Garofalo, director of state and local policy at AELP, said in an interview.
